Reading in both languages

A good bilingual program cares about reading in Spanish as much as in English. Ask about libraries, book fairs and reading promotion activities.

A program with stages

Ask which English program is used in each grade. At Colegio Real de Minas, for example, Elementary combines AMCO Activa and Construye with AMCO At the Top.

Technology with a purpose

Multimedia classrooms, computer science and robotics add up when the teacher uses them to teach better. Ask to see a classroom in action.

Lower and upper elementary aren't the same

Schedules and pace change. Ask about the schedule for each: at COREM, Lower Elementary ends at 3:00 p.m. and Upper Elementary at 2:00 p.m.

Can my child join a bilingual elementary school without bilingual kindergarten?

Yes. We assess their level and support them so they can keep pace with the class.

What documents does an elementary school in Baja California require?

Generally a birth certificate, CURP, last year's report card, the Preschool certificate and a vaccination record for 1st grade.
